Warning signs

Problem gambling is not defined by how much you stake or whether you are up or down. It is defined by the role gambling has taken in your life. Any of the following is worth taking seriously:

  • Betting more than you planned, or more than you can comfortably lose.
  • Chasing losses — increasing stakes to recover what you are down.
  • Gambling with money set aside for rent, bills, food, or debt.
  • Borrowing money, selling possessions, or hiding transactions to fund betting.
  • Lying to family, friends or colleagues about how much you gamble.
  • Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when you try to cut back.
  • Gambling to escape stress, low mood, boredom or loneliness.
  • Missing work, study, sleep or relationships because of time spent betting.
  • Repeatedly trying to stop or reduce and being unable to.

If several of these sound familiar

You do not need to be in crisis to reach out, and you do not have to have hit a particular loss figure to deserve support. Call 1-800-522-4700 — it is free, confidential, and available at any hour.

Staying in control

  • Set a budget before you start, from money you can afford to lose entirely, and stop when it is gone.
  • Set time limits. Decide in advance how long you will spend, and treat it as a hard stop.
  • Never chase. Increasing stakes to recover losses is the single most reliable way to turn a bad day into a serious problem.
  • Do not gamble to fix a feeling — stress, boredom, grief or loneliness.
  • Avoid alcohol and drugs while betting. They degrade exactly the judgement you need.
  • Track everything. People consistently remember wins more clearly than losses. A written record does not.
  • Take real breaks, including full days away.

Self-exclusion and operator tools

Every licensed sportsbook is required to offer deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. Most US states also run a formal self-exclusion programme that bars you from all licensed operators for a fixed period or for life. Your state gaming commission or the NCPG can point you to the right scheme. Blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker can restrict access across your devices.

If you are on any self-exclusion list, you are not eligible to use HAXIOM EDGE. Email us and we will close your account.

How we try to reduce harm

The way an analytics product presents itself changes how people bet. These are deliberate design decisions, not marketing:

  • No guarantee language, ever. No “locks”, no “guaranteed winners”, no promises of profit. Signals are qualified opportunities with stated risk.
  • Risk factors are displayed alongside every signal, not hidden. If we can see what might break a projection, so can you.
  • Minimum acceptable odds are published, so you know when an edge has gone rather than betting a stale number.
  • Results are recorded honestly — settled against the closing line, with losses and drawdown shown, not just the good months.
  • We never tell you what to stake. Sizing and bankroll are yours.
  • We do not pressure you to bet more. No urgency countdowns, no streak-shaming, no push to act on every signal.

Age and jurisdiction

HAXIOM EDGE is for adults 21 and over, in jurisdictions where sports betting content is lawful. Gambling laws vary by state, province and country and change frequently — you are responsible for knowing the rules where you are. We do not knowingly provide the Service to anyone underage or to anyone on a self-exclusion register.
